Our Process

Let's Start With A Cuppa?

Not sure where to start? Let’s meet and see if we can help! Here is the process we will guide you through to make sure we have got a full undertsanding of your project and whether we are are the right team for you.

Free Consultation

Don’t worry if you haven’t got a masterplan, we’ll guide you! Your consultation is an important first step in bringing your vision to life. We’ll meet at your property to get a feel for what you are hoping to achieve and cover your needs, preferences, any must-haves, and nice-to-haves. We’ll consider any existing features (that either need to stay or go), the type of soil, the forms and features of the land and most importantly, how you would like to use it. We want to know what you would consider the perfect garden. We are committed to delivering a stunning space for you to enjoy, relax, host or whatever else you are planning.

We take this part of the process very seriously. In our experience jumping in too soon and taking an agile approach to landscaping can lead to errors, misunderstandings and a end result that isn’t what you had hoped for.

By putting a lot of care and attention into the planning and scoping stages, we know exactly what the finished product will look like, and you will know what to expect, and can hold us accountable to that. Before you sign on the dotted line!

Design Brief

The design brief is a collaborative document between you and us, and will outline the goals, budget, timelines and specifics on the plan. It will document the intended use of the space, any specific features required, lighting and irrigation, planting plans and more. It will incorporate any construction required and we can help you gain consent from the council if need be.

Regarding your trees and greenery, we mostly recommend and work with native New Zealand plants but are open to anything and have experience with shrubs and flowers from all over the world.

We’ll obviously draft up the document on your behalf, but we love to get your input at this stage to make sure we get off on the right foot. We can either keep all communication to phone and email, or we’re also happy to run through it over coffee.

Concept Design and Architectural Blueprints

Once we have got your approval on the brief, our architects will draw up detailed documentation for any building work. Here we provide a comprehensive and accurate representation of the proposed construction work.

This will include preliminary sketches of buildings, proposed placement of hardscape features such as patios, retaining walls, walkways as well as trees and plants. It will also cover specifics on materials used and quantities.

The blueprints will guide the construction process and ensure that the end result meets your ambitions, works as its should and looks stunning.

Project Management

It is our responsibility to deliver quality, open space developments that our clients love. We are hugely passionate about what we do and believe that success in the detail. Your dedicate landscaping foreman will liaise with all stakeholders involved, allocate resources and quality control the work all while ensuring the landscaping crew stay on track. This includes meeting timelines laid out in the design brief, sticking to the budget, arranging equipment and materials and meeting the project scope. The project will be scheduled in time blocks, and you will have a milestone progress chart to know that we are on target for the completion due date. The foreman also identifies any risks and acts as the health and safety coordinator when on site.
